LIS, the town that never eats

We are driving through Lis, all one mile of it, and RJ suddenly asks.....

"What do the people that live in Lis do when it's supper time?"

Since there's no resturaunts in Lis, they must never eat......hmmmm, maybe I need to cook more.

1, 2, 3, Jump.......

I have tried to talk a couple into jumping into the lake at Sam Parr for three years. FINALLY I photographed the coolest couple ever and they agreed! (and it didn't even take that much persuading)

Just before dark after the rest of their session, we headed down to the lake.......

I was so nervous, that I'd screw it up. You only get one chance!

I had to have been shaking from anticipation while they were running down the dock.

I am SO happy with how it turned out! It will totally make the wall at the studio!

Thank you Josh and Lea!

Star Wars Midnight Madness and Buffalo Wild Wings

My friend Jamee sent me a link last weekend to information about a "Midnight Madness Star Wars Event" taking place at select Toys R Us stores across the country.

I checked out the information and I was so excited because the Terre Haute store in Indiana was participating!

For those of you that don't know, since Christmas of '07, RJ has lived and breathed star wars. They were releasing new Galactic Heroes . He collects them, and I knew he'd be thrilled.

We didn't tell the kids where we were going, but they knew it was a surprise.

Heidi, Sally, and CC getting ready to head off on our surprise trip.....
RJ ready to leave
Since we had to kill lots of time, we headed over to our most favorite wing place ever. BUFFALO WILD WINGS! We enjoyed dinner and a few games of trivia while we were threre.
Of course I won all 3 games of trivia that we played. Woo Hoo!
Rick won Heidi a purple smiley face ball out of the claw machine before we left.
RJ got some candy
We headed over to Toys R us. All the lights were on and the parking lot was full of cars. (It wouldn't be Star Wars if you didn't have to wait in line!) RJ and Heidi ran up to the window to peek in and see all of the Star Wars stuff they were putting out. When RJ figured out why we were there he started squealing and jumping up and down. Everyone else in the line turned and looked at him. He didn't care though.
Heidi was a little moody. But considering we kept her up to midnight to go shopping for toys that she doesn't like, I think she did pretty good!Rick and I had a system to get to the galactic heroes and get all the ones that we didn't have without hurting kids, but while butting in front of them at the same time.
Rick was the first one to the display, and shockingly, they only had 1 of each one and only had 7 total! (I told him we needed to be there early!)

The store displays were very cool!

We told RJ he could only pick 2 things. He chose a YODA, which he DID NOT HAVE. (oh my, he was so excited!) He also chose another obi won and storm trooper set.
Heidi picked a silly purse set that was ridiculous at $12. I also surprised RJ with a Darth Vader back pack.
I gave it to him and he cried, and then hugged me. You could tell it was 1 in the morning and they were exhausted! They were both asleep before we were back in Illinois.

We cleaned up at the event though. RJ is set for his birthday and Christmas between galactic heroes, and a Darth Vader outfit and a storm trooper outfit, and Lego Star Wars Sets.....I don't know what we'll do when they don't fall for the "Mom's gotta run and go to the bathroom and she'll be right back bit...."

It was a nice surprise for RJ and we had fun too!

Mmmmm Sweet Corn

Thanks to Sarah we were fortunate enough to have sweet corn last week. It was our first of the year. The kids loved it.

Can you believe that the 4 of us ate 20 ears in 1 day? (I know I had 4, Rick says he had 5. That leaves 11 between the 2 kids, unless Rodney snuck one)

Mmmmmm sweet corn.........

Another Round of Swimming Lessons

RJ and Heidi had another round of swimming lessons this past week.

RJ did great and improved alot, especially with his underwater swimming.
I don't want to say that Heidi did worse, but she didn't do much better. Not a big deal, she's only 3.....She was not in the mood to have her picture taken though, so these are mostly of RJ.

More House Cleaning and Misc Cuteness

So, I'm on a mission to have the entire house clean before school starts.....and I'm getting closer

Here is a picture of Kaitlin trying out the super cool wood floor vacum that she picked out for me and pictures of RJ and Heidi's bathroom which is clean now too.

I'm very close to being able to prove that the kitchen is clean...the laundry room will follow that.

Then, Misc cute pictures. Heidi's ariel nightgown is size 24 months and she wore it when she was 18 months old (it's supposed to be floorlength). She refuses to let me get rid of it.

The best husband EVER

I have the best husband ever....

He helps with the kids and never complains.

He puts up with my crap and rarely complains.

He does laundry.

He cooks.

He cleans.

He does whatever I need him to.

He works all day and then comes home and helps me.

AND....

He also bought me this!

He is the best ever! We have a Holiday World trip planned in about a week and a half and I had mentioned wanting to get some disposable waterproof cameras. Rather than waste the money on those, he bought me this waterproof housing for my point and shoot camera.

I am grinning from ear to ear!

Webkinz Puppet Show

A few nights ago at the studio, the kids were playing and they wanted to put on a puppet show. RJ actually wanted to, but Heidi was behind the scenes helping out....... Introducing the RJ and Heidi Puppet Show
Starring RJ
and Heidi
oh, wait, Diva Heidi
Nevermind, Heidi quit, and decided to watch it from the audience...aka, Rick and myself
Cheeky Monkey
Lemon/Lime Gecko being eaten by a striped snake
Whew, the gecko got away and is safe
The chicken popped in to say hi

So did the cow
The whole barnyard joined in
But then wait, a topless curly haired bandit with a pink google goes flying by and destroys the puppet show!
THE END
