Family Fun Night

Last week on Tuesday, Heidi's school had Family Fun night. Heidi had fun...but family fun might have been pushing it a little bit.

There were lots of different stations that they could go to and try different things.

1st up.....Pumpkin guttingThe bean bag tossRJ was playing in some cornstarch mixture that was actually really cool.Heidi making a tootsie pop ghost. She made RJ one too.She got to see her best friend Lily Biermanand make a jack-o-lanternRJ joined in when it was time for the cookie decoration They both really enjoyed that part

Heidi was 5 pumpkins tallRJ was 6 pumpkins tall

I was pretty impressed by all of the families that showed up. Heidi had a great time....which means it was fun for me and RJ too.

Pumpkin Carving

Last week we finally got around to carving our pumpkins that we got at the pumpkin patch in Arthur.

The kids were so excited, they don't remember ever having carved pumpkins before. I think the last time we did it, Heidi was a baby.RJ relaxing by his pumpkin wearing his super cool pirate bootsHeidi looking cool in her socks and sandals. :)RJ starting to gut his pumpkin.Heidi starting to gut hersLook at the look of disgust on their faces. :) They didn't make it very far. I ended up gutting all 4 pumpkins while they watched.Rick and RJ planning out what his pumpkin was going to look like. RJ wanted a scary face!RJ starting to carve hisKaitlin and Heidi were planning her pumpkin while I was still busy digging the disgusting insides out of all of the other pumpkins.Heidi even drew a face on a little pumpkin for Rodney

They look fantastic lit up. My porch is not presentable, (surprise!), so no picture of them sitting on the porch....but if you drive by at night you can see them lit up. just pay no attention to the yard toys, bikes, and shoes you might see when you look.

Hand prints

I got these handprint molds for Mothers Day. A gift I bought myself. :)
Miss Kaitlin and the kids did them a few weeks ago while I was shooting a wedding. RJ and Heidi had so much fun making them and then getting to decorate them too. Heidi has an obsession with glitter. They popped right out of the molds and I have them in the house being displayed on easels. I love them!

School Work

Some recent school work that RJ and Heidi have brought home.......

I loved the picture of RJ and Heidi eating corn. He drew her so cute. :) " I Can Et" = I can eat.

RJ made the BOO sign and Heidi of course drew the picture of herself with her name.

I love opening their bookbags every day to see what they've brought home.

Hannah B and Little E

It's like pulling teeth to get my sister to bring my neice and nephew in for me to photograph. You'd think she'd take advantage of me,.....I know I would if the tables were turned... :)

She does bring them once a year, and I was happy to see them this past week. They are getting so big. Eli turns 8 Sunday and Hannah will be 12 in November.

Miss Kendra

Miss Kendra spent the afternoon with me on Wednesday....she has such a natural beauty about her that makes her such a joy to photograph.

Luckily I'll see her a few more times before we call it quits for her senior sessions.

Okay, Okay I Lied

So, just yesterday I said I was done with Kaitlin's sessions.....I lied. :)

I was photographing a super cool senior (Gage from Robinson High School), when I came across this awesome culvert. Kaitlin stopped by after school and I met her at the door with "do you have your yellow coat with you?" She did. Lucky for me.

She braided her hair in the car on the way. I only had a 30 minute window and so we were off. We also grabbed one more spot that I had forgotten about.

Now, I really do think we are done......I think.
