Tonight was Easter Egg Night.
We have never colored eggs before as a family. We would have probably started when RJ was 3 and could actually help, but at that point Heidi was 1 and we figured somehow someone would have tried drinking the water.
So this was our first egg coloring experience. The kids loved it!
I was pleased with how smoothly it went and we have pretty eggs too.
Everyone has already eaten 1 egg (and I've caught both kids sneaking back for another one), and I have a feeling that they probably won't make it til Sunday. Looks like we'll be carrying on the tradition of hunting plastic eggs.

Your eggs are so pretty. How did you get the color so BRIGHT? Ours always turn out very pastel-ly. I'm prolly too impatient - and don't leave them in long enough!
It said to leave them in for 5 minutes and we left them in for 8. The orange ones turned out really pale though. We even soaked them twice and it still didn't do anything.
They were also farm fresh organic eggs. I don't know if that would make a difference or not.
:)
Hmmmmm...well I am willing to try anything to make them brighter! I haven't bought the eggs yet anyway and actually have to go to Whole Foods today for Parker's Soy Milk. So hopefully I can pick the eggs up then!!
Leaving them in longer will be the hardest part for me. I AM SOOOOO IMPATIENT!!
I think the longer you leave them in though, the better they'll be.
Our box of dye also had us add vinegar to some of the colors too, I wasn't sure why.
I'm pretty much a egg dye-ing virgin. Up until last night, I don't remember the last time I dyed them.
Maybe the vinegar had something to do with it to.
