Play Date

RJ and Heidi had the privilege of joining Jack and Emily (and Emily's brother Hayden) at the park on Friday for another play date.

The kids had so much fun, but more importantly :) I had so much fun. Until the last 2 weeks....I really had forgotten what it's like to sit and visit with adults. Sarah makes me laugh more often than anybody else.

Looking forward to next week.......

Kindergarten

RJ will be in Kindergarten this year.....(he graduates pre-school on Friday).

We FINALLY made it to the school to get pre-registered (we were supposed to do that months ago).

RJ got a tour from Miss Diane who works in the office and got to see everything.....the gym, cafeteria, playground, boys restroom, and each of the 4 classrooms.

He was very impressed. Heidi insists she's going too. Looks like we better find him a bigger backpack for next year. I don't think the one he has now will hold her.

Weekly Weigh In: Week 6

My 6 week weigh in and I'm down 2 more pounds, bringing my grand total to 35!

I bought new pants yesterday. I was trying not to have to do that, but my mom yelled at me. Apparently I looked like a ganster thinking I was all cool with saggy pants. (you're welcome mom!)

I was also able to go down a shirt size, which was also nice. Now, I'm a far cry away from my inspiration outfit, and I did still have to go to the fat side of Fashion Bug to get them, but hey, a smaller size is a smaller size, one step closer to the regular side.

Double Vision

So, I've been having double vision. Been that way since, oh........, before Christmas. I finally decided to be proactive and before I actually went blind, I thought I'd have an eye exam.

Well, that was a bad idea...now I have to wear glasses. Crap! I went today and picked out my frames. I ended up getting 2 pairs. I pair that I loved and a pair that I knew Rick would approve of.

The ones that I picked that Rick will like, are nice respectable rectangle ones that are in style and will look nice. The ones for me, cat eyes! I have always wanted a pair and I LOVED them. Well, loved them as much as I can love me in a pair of glasses.......

These aren't actually the frames that I picked, but it's a pretty good representation, both of these are darker than mine....Pictures of the actual frames in 7-10 days.

King size

In a couple months, Rick and I will have been married for 9 years......all 9 of those years, we have had a full size bed.

Last night we slept for the first time in our new King sized bed..........

ahhhhhh......I will never go back! Not once did I wake up and want to shove Rick off as hard as I could so that I could have more room.....as a matter of fact, not once did I wake up.

That was the best night's sleep I have had in a long time.....I had no idea what I was missing.

yesterday was weigh day....

and I lost one pound......

Some people might not be happy with 1 pound, but for me, hey, a pound's a pound......

I'm anticipating a 3 or 4 pound loss next week.......

Just to put 1 pound into perspective, here is a short list of how long I would have had to do a few different activities in order to burn 3,500 calories, which equals 1 pound of fat.....

Sleeping 2,057 minutes
Washing Dishes 847 minutes
Bowling 626 minutes
Raking the Lawn 480 minutes
Sex 450 minutes
Walking (upstairs) 236 minutes
Runing (6mph) 189 minutes
Rock Climbing 173 minutes

I don't know about you, but I don't plan on rock climbing anytime soon......sleeping for 2,057 minutes.....maybe.

another update next wednesday

Heidi's 1st Haircut

So, I have the kind of hair that tangles up into dread locks.......Well, blah, blah, blah, I had a big tangle that progressively got worse and I couldn't get it out, and I was pissed off, blah, blah, blah.

I cut it out. Actually I told Rick to cut it out, gave him the scissors, and pointed him in the direction of the tangle.

I should have had a clue, when he said, "Are you sure?". Cut it! Crap! that was a huge chunk of hair! Now I have a big spot in the back with less hair than everywhere else?

Well, Shelly was in dropping off Genna's pictures, and I mentioned it to her. She said she could make me look right again, so today she got her chance....I am happy to report that not only do I have a shorter, cuter haircut, I also have nice thick even hair with little blonde highlights.

I love it! Thank you Shelly!

Well, halfway through my visit, Heidi starts crying because she doesn't think we'll look alike anymore and that made her sad. So, I assured her, that my hair would still be curly (fuzzy) and that Shelly would do everything to her that she did to me.

So, after I was done, Miss Heidi was treated to a trim, and pretend highlights, time under the dryer and some glitter spray at the end. Heidi insisted that I get glitter spray too.

RJ got his Eddie Munster sideburns fixed, and even Rodney got a little off the top. :)

Play Date

Today RJ and Heidi met up with Jack Kinkade and Emily Baltzell at Peterson Park for a play date.

RJ and Heidi know Jack and have gotten together and played before, but this was their first time playing with Emily. (Emily is 1 wk younger than Heidi).

RJ was SO excited to get to play with the "new girl".

I think the kids really had a lot of fun, and I loved being able to sit and have an adult conversation with Sarah and Jamee.

I hope we can do it again next week.

I got a picture of everybody, but my goal for this summer is that every single picture does not have to be perfect........the kids hate it when I make them take a picture over and over again.

So, I'm telling myself that it does not bother me that RJ has his eyes closed in the group ones. That's what I'm telling myself.

The Floors are DONE!

The floors are done, the floors are done, the floors are done! Woo hoo, the floors are done!

I couldn't be more excited.

RJ and Heidi's room, much to my surprise, were completely done Friday when I got home from the studio...., so after my appts on Saturday, we moved their furniture back in for them.

They have not gotten all their toys back because I am putting great thought into what goes back in and what gets sold at the garage sale on the 17th.......

Maranda and I painted on Friday night.....I was very unsure about my paint choices, but I LOVE how it turned out. The walls are gray and the ceiling is blue....today (Monday), the carpenters finished all the crown molding and baseboards in both my room and the main bathroom.....

I love it! Maranda and I, more Maranda than I, will be working on refinishing my bedroom furniture this week. I'll post another picture once all my furniture and bedding are all in the room....

Thanks again to Maranda and her dad Tom for all of the help painting......

Happy Cinco De Mayo

The kids had a party at school today complete with a pinata, which they really enjoyed.

Then, after Heidi changed back into her Miss Ariel pj's from Disney World (because she loves them SO much), I taught them how to have wheelbarrow races......

Then Heidi found her really cool hat and RJ finished the day off playing webkinz at the studio until his dad came home from work and

Then we headed outside to practice catching a baseball. A skill he'll need if we ever find out any information about summer ball. I have yet to hear anything. Maybe I've missed something.

And I threw one in of Rodney posing by his portrait..... :)

Vintage T's

I found these "vintage" t-shirts and just had to order some for the kids.

RJ LOVED his star wars t-shirt and it is now his most prized possesion. He is going to save it for good......

I loved the Mr Messy and Miss Naughty shirts. I had those books when I was little. The kids don't appreciate how cool those actually are.

Heidi

Heidi can offically write her name....

She's been able to piece it together with help for awhile now, but this is all on her own with no help or no cheat sheets!

So Jealous!

Rick and Rodney are having so much fun in Orlando! Today, he had a reception at Universal Studios that was hosted by HP (Hewlett Packard).
He couldn't keep Rodney under control!

He got to see the Blues Brothers, the Blues Brother's car and the car from Back to the Future.....

He met Marilyn Monroe, Shrek, Woody Woodpecker, and Sponge Bob.

He and Rick did have some down time and enjoyed some drinks........

But the highlight of the trip so far (for me at least) is when Rodney BEGGED to get his portrait made and Rick FINALLY gave in!

(you have no idea how exciting this is for me.....since the bedroom is being remodeled, this is totally going up on the wall!)
