Girls Night Out

My friend Sarah turned 35 yesterday, so in celebration of her special day, we all had a "girls night out" on Saturday night.

I had so much fun, it was just unbelieveable!

Sarah Kinkade, Rebekah Gosnell, Kellie Leffler, Kate Passalacqua, Colleen Swick, Holly Farley, Amanda Zumbahlen, Jamee Baltzell, Rodney and myself all met in Effingham.

We ate at the Hilton, (amazing food)....I went off the diet for a day and had prime rib (although it wasn't quite as rare as I would have liked) and broccoli. I chased that down with 3 margaritas. :)

The food is just so fantastic. And the atmosphere was wonderful. I haven't laughed so hard......ever! I felt so sorry for the poor table next to us. They were so close. I think we probably ruined their evening.
After our evening, Holly, Amanda, Rebekah, Rodney and I finished the evening at the West Side. I'm not much of a bar person, but would go out with those three again anytime. That was Rodney's first trip to the West Side. We have a picture, but Amanada took it. At that point, my camera battry had died, so I'll have to post it later.

Happy Birthday Sarah, I hope you had at least half as much fun as me!

I'll keep you safe.....

RJ is such a good big brother!

A little over a week ago when we had all the big storms....we told the kids to sit in the hallway....(who wants to sit in a bathroom?)

Rick was checking the weather radar and I was sitting in the recliner reading a photography magazine. (weather doesn't really freak me out)

I hear RJ tell Heidi, "I'll keep you safe" and this is what I saw.

I hope they stay friends forever.

Fish Fry

Nothing beats batter dipped fried fish at the KC Hall

We headed out to show our support for the NCHS football team tonight. What better way to do that than eat fried fish!

RJ and Heidi both loved it. They ate all of their fish, buttered bread, and desert. (actually they each had 2 desserts)

Heidi even won $20 in the raffle. (I actually had them give me 2 $10 bills thinking that the kids would fight otherwise, and on the way home, RJ, who's getting smarter than I realize, said "they didn't call my name. That money is all Heidi's." Then he gave it back to her so she could put it in her piggy bank.

Proving once again, he does not take after me....I would have kept the money!

Reindeer Update

Okay, what I didn't mention in my last post was that when Jackie and Tyler took the deer away, I told it goodbye and assumed it was going to be put down when it got to the vet......

We head to the fish fry tonight and I see Jackie.....Can you believe, the vet patched it up, (although from what I understand they weren't all that happy about it), and then Jackie and her daughter Katie got it to eat out of a bottle. Then they released it back in the woods tonight.

Now that is cool!

And the reindeer lived happily every after......

Reindeer

We have a mattress on our porch, yes I know, white trash, blah, blah, blah.

We keep forgetting to take it to the dump on Saturday mornings....I'm hoping not to forget tomorrow.

anyway......

RJ goes onto the porch this morning, and announces that there is a real live baby reindeer on our porch. Well, I'll be damned. There was! We were all pretty amazed and I made everybody sit by it for a picture. Heidi started to cry because it didn't have a family. She was very upset. I thought that that was very sweet.

I wanted to pet it so bad that I even called Rick, and everyone else I could think of......no one thought it was a good idea.

I called one of the conservation officers to come and get the deer, and they were no help at all! So I called Sarah Kinkade and she talked to Jackie Schackmann, who talked to Tyler Schackmann and they totally came through for me!

They came to get the deer, who will live happily ever after.

Sam Parr

I had an appointment at Sam Parr tonight so we took the kids out to play and when I was done, I headed over to play for a few minutes before we headed home for supper. We ended up staying for quite a while.

The kids had a really good time. We found a really cool truck on the ground and RJ got excited. When we got ready to leave, he left it where he found it, saying that it was so cool, somebody would probably come looking for it.

I was proud. He's a better person than me......I totally would have kept it.

Random Pictures

MeMee and Papaw came to watch RJ's ball game Monday night.....Heidi got bored, so she talked my dad into letting her sit on his shoulders.......

We went up to the studio after the game. RJ was kind enough to paint Heidi's nails for her. Without asking.....I was pretty proud that he thought of putting a subway napkin down first.

Heidi loves how they turned out. I caught them in time to insist on painting her fingernails myself.

Swimming lessons have officially started.

new wheels

I drive to the studio about 3 times a day without the kids...usually late at night.

It's a mile each way from our house. That's 6 miles a day x 365 days a year = 2,100+ miles a year.

I decided I needed a bike. I had a bike, but I didn't like it. It had gears and I don't know how to ride a bike with gears....yes, yes, I'm a loser.

I knew I wanted an old time looking bike and I knew I wanted a basket, but when I saw this one, I loved it. The basket was so big, I could carry my purse, and my laptop, misc work, a drink, etc, etc.

So, of course I went back and forth about whether a three wheel bike is uncool...Okay, let's face it, it's a giant tricycle. Of course it's uncool, but I love it, and I don't care. If they weren't making fun of the giant trike, they'd be making fun of the giant fat girl riding a 2 wheel bike.

I vow to not use my basket to pick up aluminum cans though!
