Day 4 Epcot

After the late night at the Pirate and Princess Party the night before (not getting back to the room til 1a.m.), we thought we'd take it easy and head to Epcot on day 4 (Sunday).

As soon as we arrived, we headed over to Soarin' the ride to get our Fast Pass tickets as we knew that they run out of them fast. Our tickets were for 5 hours later. No problem I thought, there'd be plenty to do. You know, not really. Now I'm not complaining at all, because we were in Disney and everything, but I have to say that unless you want to eat alot or get drunk, there's not a lot to do in Epcot.

I made the kids stand in a line for a private meet and greet with characters. You qualify for this meet and greet if you have a Disney Visa. So we stood in line for that for 10 minutes and got some really fun pictures with Minnie and Goofy. After that, we rode the Nemo ride(s). But then, that was pretty much it. There aren't too many rides in Epcot and my kids did not enjoy the World Showcase.

So, I promised them a popsicle and made them stand in more character lines. They HATED that, but what else were we gonna do? We got to see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale. I loved it. I was so excited! Rick and I even got in some. (It's good to be photographed every now and again to remind yourself why you need to diet!) We got the promised popsicles and just relaxed.

We then headed over to our dinner reservations which was also a character meal. We got to see Micky, Pluto, Chip and Dale at dinner. Boy I can't get enough of those guys!

Finally, we headed over to Soarin'. This ride is fantastic. You basically hang in these seats with your legs hanging freely and you "soar" up in the air in an IMAX theatre. You are soarin' over California and you go from the ocean cliffs, to the orange groves, to the mountains, etc.. It's very realalistic and you feel like you are going to touch things with your toes. To be completely honest, this ride scared me to death. I am terribly scared of heights and it took me about half of the ride time to realize I wasn't going to die. By the time it was over, I was enjoying it. It was absolutely worth killing time for.....what an experience.

I wasn't sure what to expect at Epcot. I had basically heard that 1/2 the people LOVE it and 1/2 the people hate it.

I do think though, that all in all, we won't head to Epcot again unless our kids are of drinking age, or we are by ourselves. We would have liked to have enjoyed an alcoholic beverage at all the different countries. For some reason though, we didn't think that would be wise. :)

We headed "home" to the resort at about 6 and just relaxed. I wanted everybody to get a good night's sleep so we could get up for rope drop at Magic Kingdom the next morning. (Monday).
